The Role: Data Associate

We are seeking a skilled Data Associate to join our MEAL team, dedicated to advancing evidence-based decision-making for social impact. This role focuses on extracting meaningful insights from complex datasets and translating them into actionable dashboards and visualizations that drive strategic decisions.

You will play a key role in understanding business requirements, building robust data pipelines, designing intuitive dashboards, and delivering impactful data visualizations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will transform raw data into compelling stories that inform policy, programs, and organizational strategy. We seek detail-oriented professionals who are passionate about data, skilled at stakeholder communication, and committed to making a meaningful difference in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.



Required Skills

  1. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. Proficiency in Python(mandatory) for data manipulation, analysis, and automation of data workflows.
  3. Strong command of SQL for querying, extracting, and transforming data from relational databases.
  4. Experience building APIs and integrations
  5. Proficiency with version control systems like Git for collaborative development.
  6. Hands-on experience with Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and data visualizations.
  7. Ability to understand business user needs and translate them into meaningful dashboard insights and KPIs.
  8. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across all levels.
  9. Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Skills

•    Experience with other data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.

•    Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes.

•    Knowledge of statistical analysis and data modeling techniques.

•    Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

•    Understanding of data governance, quality assurance, and data security best practices.
