Location: Delhi (Hybrid)

Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Marketing, Public Policy, or a related field

Experience Needed: 

  1. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, marketing and brand positioning (preferably in the development / social impact sector)
  2. Demonstrated experience in developing and executing communications strategies and campaigns
  3. Content development and thought leadership
  4. Writing for publications, blogs, reports, or media content
  5. Experience working with multi-stakeholder environments (platforms, partnerships, networks)
  6. Experience in end to end brand shaping communications is preferable

Scope of Work

1. Communications Strategy Development (20%)

  1. Develop annual and quarterly communications plans aligned with Upfront’s brand strategy and priorities.
  2. Identify priority audiences, key messages, platforms, and communication goals.
  3. Build a clear roadmap for campaigns, thought leadership, and visibility efforts.
  4. Work closely with the CEO and leadership to translate strategic priorities into communication narratives.
  5. Align communication plans with broader Catalyst Platform big bets and identify opportunities for cross-brand amplification.

2. Brand Positioning & Narrative Management (15%)

  1. Operationalise Upfront’s brand positioning across all communication outputs.
  2. Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and narrative across channels and materials.
  3. Refine and evolve key messages based on sector trends and organisational priorities.
  4. Support leadership positioning (CEO, senior team) through aligned narratives and visibility opportunities.

3. Campaigns & Communications Execution (20%)

  1. Lead the execution of integrated communication campaigns (digital, events, media, partnerships).
  2. Develop and manage a content calendar aligned with strategic priorities.
  3. Oversee creation of communication assets (articles, reports, presentations, social media, etc.).
  4. Coordinate with designers, agencies, and internal teams for timely delivery.
  5. Collaborate with Catalyst Platform brands to co-create and amplify joint campaigns where relevant.

4. Thought Leadership & External Visibility (15%)

  1. Identify and drive opportunities for Upfront’s presence in:
  2. Conferences, forums, and panels
  3. Publications and media platforms
  4. Partnerships and collaborations
  5. Support development of high-quality thought leadership content (articles, op-eds, reports).
  6. Build and manage a pipeline of external visibility opportunities.

5. Digital & Platform Management (10%)

  1. Oversee Upfront’s digital presence (website, LinkedIn, etc.).
  2. Ensure consistent and strategic use of platforms for brand building.
  3. Track engagement and optimize content strategy accordingly.

6. Monitoring, Learning & Insights (10%)

  1. Define and track key communication and brand metrics (reach, engagement, visibility, conversions where relevant).
  2. Analyze performance of campaigns and platforms.
  3. Use insights to refine communication strategies and improve effectiveness.

7. Collaboration & Internal Coordination (10%)

  1. Work closely with Catalyst Platform communications teams and other affiliated brands to:
  2. Align messaging and narratives
  3. Identify cross-brand storytelling opportunities
  4. Coordinate joint campaigns, announcements, and visibility efforts
  5. Act as the primary communication focal point for Upfront.
  6. Coordinate with internal program and leadership teams to source content and align messaging.
  7. Establish and streamline communication processes and workflows across teams. 

What Success Looks Like

  1. Upfront has a clear, differentiated voice in the worker wellbeing and value chain space.
  2. A consistent pipeline of visibility is established (publications, panels, partnerships), not one-off bursts.
  3. Leadership is positioned as credible, thoughtful voices in the ecosystem, with regular external presence.
  4. Campaigns move beyond awareness to influence conversations, partnerships, and uptake.
  5. Digital platforms (especially LinkedIn and website) show steady growth in engagement and relevance, not just volume.
  6. Internal teams experience communications as an enabler, not a bottleneck.

Compensation and Contract

  1. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and aligned with sector benchmarks.
  2. This will be a full-time role.

Travel Requirements

  1. Moderate travel may be required for events, partner meetings, field exposure, and key campaign activations.
  2. Travel will be planned and purposeful, not routine.

Language Requirements

  1. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
  2. Proficiency in Hindi is strongly preferred.
  3. Additional Indian languages are a plus, especially for grounded storytelling and wider audience reach.
