Role:
● Developing and leading legal strategy to promote and protect the company's interests;
● Developing and leading internal audit and corporate compliance programmes;
● Overseeing delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities;
● Contract lifecycle management for business / programme teams, including Implementation of key legal processes that relate to legal drafting, negotiations, and commercial settlement
agreements.;
● Maintaining documentation and engagement with relevant local, state and central governmental bodies as required, for the purpose of legal and regulatory compliances;
● Advising the Co-Founders and other senior corporate officers on a variety of issues;
● Participating in the formulation of general management policy as a member of the executive management team;
● Internal and external stakeholder management, in terms of liaising with and supporting enabling functions such as HR, Finance etc., with legal advisory and drafting requirements and managing relationships with external counsels and experts.
Functions Results
Responsible for Legal Affairs of the Catalysts:
1. Reviewing and vetting all relevant legal documentation
2. Drafting templates of documents where required, to facilitate the needs of the respective organisation (including but not limited to grant agreements, commercial contracts, MoUs, NDAs, partnership / collaboration agreements, service / vendor contracts, consultancy / HR contracts, etc.)
3. Successful implementation of legal strategies and processes to identify and mitigate risks in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
4. Providing accurate and effective advisory inputs and solutions on various legal matters pertaining to contract law, labour regulations, intellectual property, data privacy, general commercial and corporate laws etc.
Communication and Drafting Skills:
Strong communication skills and ability to draft effective high-value legal documentation (Unambiguous, concise, and conclusive, leaving minimal room for misinterpretation, ambiguity or risk for the organisation, and providing senior leadership with adequate information for critical decision-making, etc.)
Interpersonal Skills Must have the tenacity to adapt to and thrive in a dynamic environment, be proactive and self-motivated, have a keen eye for detail and possess relationship management skills.
Profile:
● Proven experience as a Legal Manager or similar leadership role
● High proficiency in written and verbal communication
● Demonstrable leadership, organisational and stakeholder management skills
● Strategic thinking and orientation towards risk mitigation and management
● Problem-solving aptitude and critical thinking skills
● Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment with evolving needs to meet the desired outcomes of social impact of CMS and its affiliate entities.
Education - Bachelors in Law as a preferred degree. Other relevant graduate degrees would be a plus.
Experience and Skills required - Atleast 10 years of domain experience.
